Šibenik Region is a Dalmatian region which has two Croatian National Parks, namely: the Krka National Park and the Kornati Islands National Park. They"re only 50 kilometres away and are fantastic places to enjoy in their rich and different river and sea natural worlds. The Krka National Park got its name after the river Krka, which crosses wild and narrowed canyons with natural barriers, making numerous waterfalls and lakes. An Island with a monastery is situated on one of these lakes. The Kornati National Park is an archipelago with 147 islands with unique and extremely rare vegetation. Because of isolation and hard climate there are no inhabitants on the islands, that"s why they are suitable for Robinson tourism. Best known mainland tourist destinations are Šibenik, Vodice, Primošten, Murter, Rogoznica. Šibenik is an ancient Croatian town, mentioned in the Deed of Gift from Croatia"s King Peter Krešimir in 1066. You will be certainly delighted with the well known Cathedral of St. James, one of the most significant Renaissance buildings in Croatia. |
